NKS-B REMSEMNordic seminar regarding modelling of radionuclide transfer from fallout after a nuclear explosion
9-10 September 2025, Sigtuna, Sweden
If a radiological emergency would occur with dispersion of radionuclides, land areas and thus crops and animals meant for consumption might be contaminated with radionuclides from the fallout. In order to quickly assess the contamination of food and feed products, modelling tools can be used to estimate the transfer of radionuclides from the nuclear fallout to crops and animals. To increase the awareness of the work that has been done up until now and to identify further improvements, a workshop will be held with focus on discussions about modelling of radionuclide transfer from a nuclear weapon explosion fallout to man via food intake.
The REMSEM workshop will be a two-day seminar to share knowledge and experiences on radioecological modelling between authorities, research communities and other stakeholders.
Participation is by invitation only.
