| Project summary |
Two year project on C-14 speciation characterisation in decommissioning waste from Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) and Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR). First year focuses on assessment of available methods and method development for organic and inorganic C-14 analysis in solid decommissioning waste. An intercomparison exercise, in which 1 or 2 real samples (rubble, oxide layer), will be analysed in the second year. The C-14 analysis performances will be assessed as z scores. The activity results can be be directly utilised in long term safety analysis for the final repositories for radioactive waste in both Sweden and Finland.
