NKS-B REMSEM

Nordic seminar regarding modelling of radionuclide transfer from fallout after a nuclear explosion

9-10 September 2025, Sigtuna, Sweden,

If a radiological emergency would occur with dispersion of radionuclides, land areas and thus crops and animals meant for consumption might be contaminated with radionuclides from the fallout. In order to quickly assess the contamination of food and feed products, modelling tools can be used to estimate the transfer of radionuclides from the nuclear fallout to crops and animals. To increase the awareness of the work that has been done up until now and to identify further improvements, a workshop will be held with focus on discussions about modelling of radionuclide transfer from a nuclear weapon explosion fallout to man via food intake.

The REMSEM workshop will be a two-day seminar to share knowledge and experiences on radioecological modelling between authorities, research communities and other stakeholders.

Participation is by invitation only.

Coordinator: Petra Lagerkvist, FOI (petra.lagerkvist@foi.se)

NKS-B GammaAI 2025

Seminar on recent developments in gamma spectrometry

8-9 October 2025, DTU Lyngby Campus, Denmark

This two-day event will focus on recent developments in gamma-ray spectrometry, with a special emphasis on the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in the field. The seminar will feature expert presentations, a hands-on data analysis intercomparison exercise, and opportunities to share experiences and discuss current challenges.

Further information—including registration details, program, and practical arrangements is shared at GammaAI 2025 - Gamma Wiki.

We look forward to welcoming you to NKS GammaAI 2025!
