NKS-R programmet
R-Program (NKS-R) is the Reactor safety including radioactive waste and decommissioning side of the Nordic Nuclear Safety Research (NKS). The objective of the NKS-R is to support Nordic work related to safety improvements, information exchange and networking, and education of new experts.
Research projects or seminars aspiring for NKS-R funding must apply for the grant from the NKS Board. The NKS-R Program Manager presents the applications to the NKS Board after an evaluation by an independent reference group. Projects looking for major NKS-R funding are suggested to participate in the Call for Proposals announced in August every year. The criteria emphasized at the selection of activities to be funded are the following:
- Demonstration of Nordic dimension
- Relevancy of the results to the end-users and financing organizations
- High standard of technical or scientific content
- Distinct and measurable goals
- Participation of young experts
- Links to other national or international programs.
